New 12,000 sf Strip Center Full

CENTER, Texas (May 24, 2016) – Commercial development in Center, Texas, continues to be strong with the opening of a new 12,000 sf retail/commercial multi-tenant shopping center.  The center is on the Hurst Street corridor which experiences a traffic count of nearly 15,000 vehicles per day.

In 2013, the Center Economic Development Corporation was approached with providing some level of financial assistance.  “The EDC agreed to help with $7,500 of targeted infrastructure and site development assistance,” said John Snider, CEDC Board President.  “Right now it is wonderful to be experiencing a small retail boom.”  Other commercial developments in the general area include the construction of the new Center Motors dealership in 2015.  The Pizza Hut across the street will be rebuilt.  A new Chicken Express was recently completed with more development planned nearby.

“Most everything in this area is new,” Snider continued.  “Over the last 5 years, there have been five new hotels, plus the Windham Civic Center and other development.  We hope to see this continue.”
