K-12 educational services are provided by Center ISD. Other school districts in Shelby County are: Excelsior ISD, Shelbyville ISD, Tenaha ISD, Timpson ISD and Joaquin ISD.

Panola College operates the Shelby Center, a satellite facility in Center which offers general academic courses.
Panola also operates the Shelby Regional Training Center, a facility which provides vocational training for students. The staff of the SRTC can customize a workforce development curriculum for an employer.
